“The Power of Purple!” – WeissCANNON 6StarString Supercharged

This entry was posted in WeissCANNON Strings by GGTennis. Bookmark the permalink.

Throughout the ages, purple has been the color of royalty.  Purple is synonymous with creativity.  Purple is posh.  Purple represents power and wealth.  Purple is fun, youthful and unique.  It is no surprise that WeissCANNON has selected purple as the hue of choice for its attention grabbing new product, 6StarString Supercharged!

WeissCANNON continues to push string design and development forward with another completely unique product.  The designer, Siegfried Weiss, owner and founder of WeissCANNON, is a bit reluctant to delve into the design specifics of  his newest creation.  Trade secrets, afterall, help keep others from copying the design…and this is surely one design that most string companies are clearly salivating over to add to their portfolio of offerings.  A design that took nearly 3 years to perfect.

Last summer WeissCANNON launched the original 6StarString, which after two years in development was thought to be ready for prime time.  While proving to be a terrific product, the worldwide feedback provided opportunities for further revisons that have led to the 2010 version, a new, improved and completely unique  product, called 6StarString Supercharged!

The power of purple resonates loudly through an on-court performance that is unlike other strings in the marketplace today.  The Supercharged string is comprised of a secret blend of multifilament fibers combined and twisted with monofilament offerings.  WeissCANNON labels this new string type as a “MonoMultifilament.” The result is product that offers the feel and playability of a multifilament string with increased durability and spin potential not found in traditional multis.  The feel is similar to crisp playing multifilament strings, with the spin and durability greatly enhanced.

A string as unique as the new 6StarString Supercharged needed to be tinted a color that is not commonly seen, is visually interesting and stands out from other products.  To achieve these objectives a violet/purple hue was selected.  The color of 6StarString Supercharged should send an immediate visual signal to opponents that they are about to face something extraordinary.  As the match commences  fear and trepidation will root into their consciousness  as the “Power of Purple” creates a psychological edge.   Eventually opponents will  realize he/she is being defeated by an opponent who is not only an outstanding shot-maker, but smart enough to wield innovative products that enhance their game by amplifying skills.  They will walk off the court bound and determined to unlock the mystery of the “Power of Purple” so they too can get the most out of their game.

Playtesters worldwide have been raving about the performance of this product.  The feel and durability are frequently mentioned, but most mentioned is the fact that this string holds its playing properties for an unusually long period of time.  This leads to a level of consistency and longevity not seen in many string offerings not labeled WeissCANNON.

Guts and Glory Tennis is delighted to introduce this string to our customers.  We have it available in both 40′ sets and 660′ reels.  The string is available in a 1.30mm, 16ga version and will be made available at introductory pricing for a limited time when ordered through us. Get yours today…before your opponents discover it!

    Jason,

Thank you for visiting our blog. Naturally everyone is welcome to their opinion as color preference is open to each individual’s personal taste. The unique purple color was chosen to represent a UNIQUE performance string. Granted it is not for everyone. However, based on a very brisk first week of sales, I suspect you may be facing it soon across the court. All we can say is “good luck” when you see it opposing you. We hope it does not give your opponent a mental advantage to go along with his equipment advantage…that might spell a quick defeat for you. 🙂

I am exploring possibilities because I have a tender shoulder and looking for a softer string thatt still has control and helps me utilize my topspin s hots both in forehand and backhand. Also, I use pretty stiff rackets right nowso I need a string that will sogten these rackets..

So, how does 65 Srat Srring compare to Dinnum Pro Micronite in terms of tension maintenance, spin potential, power, comfort and any other aspect you consider important?

Any other string worth recommending similar to these?

6StarString spins the ball better than Micronite. It is not as soft or as powerful. A poly-hybrid is probably the first option I would explore, but the 6StarString may also fit the bill. It spins well by multi standards.

I just tried the 18 ga turbo twist as a cross with 18ga Klip natural gut. It is a little to soft for me. I would like to try a product that has more of a stiff feel like Head RIP 17ga. would you suggest a non poly with a stiff feel to compare with the RIP?
    Thanks

While I have had a few local customers who have used the Head Rip strings, I have never hit with them. If the TT is too soft, you might give the Silverstring a whirl. I also have a number of customers who enjoy the MSV Focus blended with natural gut.
