L-TEC Premium Gut

L-TEC Premium Gut is a round mono-core synthetic gut with a composition and structure designed to reproduce the essential qualities of of play of a natural gut string. Sold in half sets and specifically designed to be used as a cross string with any L-TEC  co-poly main, this string will provide additional power and increased playing sensations with excellent control at low tensions. 

L-TEC Premium Gut is a round mono-core synthetic gut with a composition and structure designed to reproduce the essential qualities of play of a natural gut string.  This offering has been specifically designed and conceived to be used AS A CROSS STRING ONLY with any of the co-poly strings in the L-TEC line. The L-TEC Premium Gut can effectively be strung as a cross in low tension ranges without resulting in loss of control. 

Construction: Round mono-core synthetic string with a unique cross-over partial double wrap which only partially covers the core. 

Advantage: Offers the feel and feedback of natural gut in a hybrid setting.  The power level of this string is a better match with L-TEC copolys than natural gut because it can be strung at significantly lower tensions without creating hotspots in the stringbed.  Being effective at lower tensions is extremely important because it allows the cross string to be strung at the same or +/- 4 lbs of the mains.  Natural gut requires a significantly broader tension differential in order to maintain control.  A significant difference in tensions between mains and crosses is not desirable due to uneven stresses placed on the frame.
