Construction: Constructed of the HIGHEST grade premium co-polymer materials reinforced with fluorcarbon trace elements and powerful chemical additives. The chemical predecessor to this string is the hugely successful Silverstring. The Black5Edge features the same basic core construction with the bonus of advanced chemical elements and variations in concentration along with a Pentagonal profile to propel it into an entirely new classification of poly-based string. We call it "poly-plush." The Black5Edge is manufactured in Germany to exacting standards that are ISO 9001 certified for consistency.

Wow

This is my new string of choice. After switching to this string I won a mens open prize money event, and beat 2 players I lost to in straight sets last time I played them. This string is very powerful and lots of feel at the net for a poly. Spin and control is excellent. Tension retention is great as all weiss cannon strings I have tried. Im finally excited about tennis with this new string. My ranking will jump for sure. Highly recommended. -- Smitty

Black5Edge Indeed

Recently picked up 6 sets of this string, given the buzz and prior positive experience with WeissCannon Silverstring. String bed is much firmer with Black5Edge. Best word to describe the overall experience playing this set up is control. I felt more in control of all of my strokes which led to improved confidence. Not the most spin-friendly I've ever played, but definitely spinny. Topspin ground strokes performed as expected. Slice backhands definitely had more bite and edge to them.

I am currently two sessions into evaluating, but if these playing qualities hold and the string has even marginal durability, we could have a real winner. Not sure about the poly plush description. String bed doesn't feel plush to me. Has more of an edge to it and right now the edge is delivering results. -- Lange

The best so far.....................

I string racquets for friends and a few others. I have been pushing this string ever since I first got it and every person I have strung a racquet with it has been exceptionally pleased. It is VERY arm friendly for a poly yet remains stable in the string bed and gives tons of spin. Also, because it has a softer feel, the feedback and therefore feel of the strings is wonderful. I can't speak highly enough of this string. I use it in the mains with a syn gut in the crosses, but it is no doubt soft enough to be used in a full set up without fear of tennis elbow and the like..... -- Graham
